Welcome to the Universe of Mining , Bakagem is an innovative player in the mining sector, particularly in Burundi and the Great Lakes sub-region. Since our inception, we have distinguished ourselves through our commitment to excellence and our passion for minerals. Our activities encompass the purchase, sale, import, and export of various minerals, ranging from precious stones and semi-precious stones to precious and base metals.
By 2040-2060, under the vision of Head of State H.E. Evariste Ndahishimiye, Burundi will be a peaceful country where everyone lives in decent conditions and where no one dies from a preventable cause. The mining sector, as a pillar of this transformation, will be guided by responsible practices that will benefit the whole society.
The foundry
We have a foundry for the transformation of precious metals, notably gold, into ingots or other standardized forms through a process of melting, casting and purification.
